Hungary in the fifties. The May Day parades still take place in all their glory. Stalin and Lenin in portraits are carried along in a procession of floats decorated with red flags, sickle and hammer. Alongside is the family life that seems to be making its own way, unhindered by the political colour of the regime. We make the acquaintance of two families. It is remarkable how freely they relate to each other in front of the camera. Passionate kisses are exchanged in the romantic surroundings of the Balaton lake. Particular attention is paid to a baby. She is also the one whom we follow from her first steps to her appearance as a dancer in a revue during the sixties.
