Chris Newby investigates with much irony the ritual of the kiss in - how could it be otherwise - 'Kiss'. The kiss as the entwining embrace of the octopus, the kiss as the rouser of animal lusts, but Newby also shows, and particularly lets us hear, what lovers, blinded with passion, miss. Anyway, if we human beings had the tongues of reptiles and snakes, the kiss would be a good bit less intimate and what's more, much more awkward.
