Defectors Excerpts 2: Fencing
  USA 1981
Videotape, 5:00, colour
A poetic metaphor about the curtailment of freedom. What happened to the bison, the almost extinct symbol of the way the west was won, also threatens mankind. The fencing which the man pulls over himself has the same shape as the cooling towers of the nuclear reactor on Three Miles Island near Harrisburg. The man eventually tears open the fence of a missile base near San Francisco which was operational in the Sixties and flees. He only experiences a fleeting moment of freedom in dance and music.
