Boxing is a way of showing off the human body and at the same time a parody on violence, a put-up fight bristling with sensuality with alternating punches, bodies pressed together, the dance steps and repetitive gestures. It is also an illusion, because it is really a matter of winning or losing: the spectacle of death. Marie-Jo Lafontaine uses this illusion to make an installation: a choreography of boxing bodies rhythmically moving across the monitors. Instead of the bloody images seen in Scorsese's 'Raging Bull' this tape has dance music, culminating in 'Wunderbar'.
