A beauty salon in the Deep South of Fifties U.S.A. is more or less a symbol for boredom, false sentiment, venom, narrow-mindedness, backbiting and Country & Western music. The main character is Leota Booth who treats her customers to stories full of excitement and sensation; and her stories are lapped up by the housewives who need to compensate for their monotonous existence. Leota Booth is beautifully portrayed by Patricia Butler. This production also offers a satire on the American soap opera, complete with authentic Fifties commercials. It is an extremely professional work, perfect in the smallest details. Even the colour pink has a quality you thought long gone.
