This tape portrays the mem.ories of a young girl, memories concerning sexuality and eroticism. Is it a double-cross when the mother says that her love for her husband is no better, but different from that for her daughter? Why is your pattern of sexual behaviour coupled to the way you look? Blumenthal narrates this case-history with the help of swiftly alternating images, erotic or sobering, but always moving (and sometimes provided by sound alone), which demonstrate that many erotic impulses remain unexpressed and therefore hardly count. 'Doublecross' stands midway between a narrative tape and a short documentary.
