Conversations with upwards of thirty prisoners in three jails - including San Quentin State Prison - yielded almost fifty hours of video. Out of this, Borofsky and Glassman have put together their hour long production, 'Prisoners', which examines both the differences and the similarities between prisoners and 'free' citizens outside. The video shows inter alia how far-reaching and disastrous the consequences of sexual abuse of children can be, especially when the act remains undiscussed. The interviews are completed by statistical evidence. Artist Borofsky and his partner Glassman, originally a theatre director, have made a video that leaves a deep impression on the mind. Although it may at first sight look out of place in the contest of Borofsky's numbered works the production proves on closer inspection to fit perfectly into his oeuvre.
