In this tape, Gassinger reconstructs a vacation spent in some major city or other. Her only tangible memory was an 8mm film shot at the time. That sort of holiday film usually displays a hopeless lack of structure, as a rule because it isn't made with the intention of expressing any particular point of view. Such films are good at most for amusing family and friend.
To please a wider and more critical audience, the material needs the application of artifice. Grassinger succeeds wonderfully well in this. In a brief sketch only some three minutes in length, she depicts her city as a swirling metropolis, where the erotic has a role not to be misunderstood.
