China (2003) 2' There is a boundary of time between our memory of events and the reality of our experience. Sometimes the boundary is clear, like the transition between scenes in a film. Sometimes, it’s blurred as if our eyes are filled with tears. Reality is a complete story with a beginning and an end while flashes of memory are fragments from the past. Anything glorious will eventually fade in both time and space. The crucial issue is whether we retain a true reflection of the event. We cannot recreate the past but we are able to feel the pulse of life in our reflection of other times. Our imaginations allow us to wonder how everything might be different if time flew backwards. We can endure hardships, but we cannot tolerate the recurrence of the same hardships. A special time indicates a limit of life. A closed castle could suffocate the pureness of life. A character composed of different colors could not surpass the human tragedy. The remanence of memory left a symbol that will never die out, an extending line is leading the life wandering in memory…
