New main location for the festival
The World Wide Video Festival is looking forward to its collaboration with the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA). From Thursday, 8 May through Sunday, 25 May, 2003, the enormous PTA building will be the festival's main location where a lot of activities will unfold: solo and group exhibitions, the media lounge (overlooking the Amsterdam harbour), performances, presentations and screenings, and the 'meet-the-artist' section. Festival dates in May 2003
The 20th edition of the festival will take place from Thursday, 8 May through Sunday, 25 May 2003. Apart from new work the festival will present a retrospective exhibition of some 20 installations from previous editions of the festival and three solo exhibitions by Éder Santos (Brazil), Walid Ra'ad (Lebanon) and Marina Abramovic (Netherlands). Also, there will be a thematic sub-festival around the VJ/DJ culture, the media lounge will offer video, CD-ROMs and net-art, there will be performances and presentations, a seminar of several days and the very popular 'meet-the-artist' programme. Traditionally, many artists from both the Netherlands and abroad are expected to attend the festival. More details will follow in our next newsletter. For more information see festival 2003
