France (2000) installation

The main subject of most of Scurti's pieces is mass media and the transmission of information. Colors was created from excerpts from a television broadcast of a rugby match. The rain had diluted the colours of the company logos that were painted on the turf of the stadium. Each player's body and shirt got spotted with the paint. The rugby players physically attest to the inextricable relationship between sports matches, corporate advertising, and the media.
